Ferrous Metals
Carbon Steel which is also known as structure steel is a staple requirement in the construction industry and used in the tallest skyscrapers and longest bridges. Ferrous metals are also used in shipping containers, industrial piping, automobiles, agricultural equipment, railroad tracks as well as many commercial and domestic tools. Wrought iron resists rust due to its purity and stainless steel is protected from rust by the presence of chromium and therefore used in utensils and applications. Ferrous metals often have relatively high amounts of strength, especially when compared with copper, tin, and lead alloys. Most ferrous metals are magnetic which makes them very useful for motor and electrical applications.
Non Ferrous Metals
A team of highly committed and talented professionals is one of our many strengths. Non-ferrous metals include aluminium, copper, lead, zinc and tin, as well as precious metals like gold and silver. Their main advantage over ferrous materials is their malleability that is they can be pressed or hammered into thin sheets without breaking). Non-ferrous metals have one valuable advantage over ferrous metals, which is that they are highly corrosion and rust resistant because they do not have any iron content in them. Consequently, these materials are suitable for highly corrosive environments such as liquid, chemical and sewage pipelines, roofing and outdoor signs. Lastly they are non-magnetic, which is important for many electronic and wiring applications.
